Makana Tourism’s Annual Golf Classic

Golf enthusiasts were able to enjoy the beauty of the Sarah Baartman region as they enjoy the game of golf at one of its attractions, The Belmont Golf Club.

The Belmont Golf Club is one of the top 20 in the country and offers a magnificent 18-hole golf course, a luxury clubhouse and more! And it is only 7km from Makhanda’s city centre.

The action-packed annual event allows you to experience a weekend away at one of Eastern Cape’s best golf destinations. The Belmont Golf Course is in excellent condition and players will love its greens, which are rated in the top 20 in South Africa.

Three grand prizes were up for grabs to the value of R20 000, plus loads of spot prizes to keep you on your feet!

Proceeds from this fundraising event benefits The Belmont Golf Club's Caddie Academy, which, in partnership with Makana Tourism, treated underprivileged youth to a day of golf away from their familiar surroundings to experience a new attraction. The youth, who have never been exposed to golf, gets a chance to learn how to play the sport and gain career prospects and invaluable life lessons on the golf course.
