This two-day event will transform the Gino's Restaurant Parking area into a glow-in-the-dark wonderland. With live family-friendly entertainment, this evening promises a magical twist, featuring captivating live performances and a festive atmosphere. There's also a best-dressed competition, so feel free to dress up in your most enchanting costume and join in the fun!
Magical Night Market (October 26)
The Night Market on Friday, October 26th, from 6 PM to 10 PM, will transform Makhanda into a glowing wonderland under the stars. With live, family-friendly entertainment, this enchanting evening promises a spellbinding mix of music, dancing, and vibrant energy. The excitement peaks with a best-dressed competition, inviting everyone to unleash their imagination and show off their most creative costumes for a chance to win fantastic prizes. Whether you come dressed as a fairy, a glowing creature, or something entirely unexpected, this magical night is sure to dazzle!
In addition to the live entertainment, the night market will offer fun activities for all ages, including the creepiest pub crawl, which will take participants on a tour through Makhanda’s historic areas, stopping at some of the town’s trendiest watering holes. Stops include:

The Night Market will also feature a treasure hunt, trick or treat activities for children, and games, ensuring fun for both young and old.
Ashtree, the creative business run by local artist Ashleigh, will be there offering face painting, balloon animals, and henna designs. Her live art creations add a special touch of magic to the event, making it a favoupppprite stop for families. Ashleigh’s original hand-drawn stickers and coloring books will also be available for purchase, perfect for adding a little creative magic to your day.
Play Day and Market Fun (October 27)
The festivities continue Saturday, October 27th, with the Play Day and Market from 9 AM to 2 PM. This vibrant day market will feature a mix of street food, arts, crafts, and more, allowing visitors to explore delicious local treats and shop for handmade goods from local vendors.
The day will also include family-friendly entertainment with fun activities for children, live performances, and another chance to join in the best-dressed competition. The Play Day ensures that families can enjoy a full day of fun and creativity in a safe and welcoming environment.
