Makhanda’s much-anticipated Enchanting Night Market and Halloween Play Day are set to bring the community together for a weekend of local talent, family fun, and delicious food. This event is not just a celebration of Halloween but a chance to uplift our town’s incredible vendors and entrepreneurs.

Ana Zacharellis, owner of Gino’s Restaurant, believes local events like this are essential for Makhanda's growth. “We have so many talented local vendors—crafters, artisans, and food creators. They just need a platform to shine, and this market is the perfect opportunity,” Ana shared, as she leads the two-day celebration aimed at promoting unity and economic support.

Ashanti Satsha, founder of Embo Jewels Models and Beauty Pageants Academy, will be showcasing her brand Amber Jewels, a collection of handmade jewelry crafted from recycled materials. Ashanti’s mission is not just about beautiful creations but also about empowering the youth in our community. Every purchase supports her upcoming trip to Sri Lanka, where she will be honored with an international award. Ashanti is passionate about making a difference and hopes her journey will inspire others to follow their dreams.

Andisa Kepe, the creative mind behind Aizzo Kitchen, is participating in his first market, showcasing fast food, bucket hats, and beanies. “This event is a great opportunity for me to meet more people and introduce them to my business,” Andisa said, excited for the exposure the market will bring.

Maria Nel, a vendor specializing in baked goods, bags, and pillowcases, is looking forward to her second time participating in the market. “I’ve always loved baking, and now that I have more time, I can explore my creativity and connect with the community. These markets feel like family,” she expressed.

Malwande Bebeza, creator of Granny’s Ginger Beer, started his business during the 2021 lockdown and has since built strong connections through local markets. “The community support at these events is incredible. It’s what keeps us going,” Malwande shared.

Noma Chucks, a talented jewelry and craft maker, started her journey in 2015. “Since I wasn't working then, I decided to try something with my hands,” Noma explained. She found joy in creating jewelry and crafts, initially making sales at the National Arts Festival. “It’s better to start my creativity and grow it into a business,” she added, reflecting on her growth as a vendor.

This event is all about bringing the community together, celebrating local talent, and creating lasting connections.
