Invitation - Book Launch of Aerial 2024

You are all invited to the launch of Aerial 2024, the Institute for the Study of the Englishes of Africa (ISEA)’s writing course publication.
The ISEA’s long-standing writing course publication, open to all members of the community, was conducted again this year at Rhodes University. It consists of 15 classes held during term time on Tuesday evenings—the night that writers of Makhanda spend some time writing. The class put together this publication themselves. Aerial 2024 has contributions in English and isiXhosa. It was edited by Kim Barker and Anele Lupuwana. The course acts as a refresher for some who have done it before, such as Mariss Stevens and Caroline van der Mescht, even including those that have completed MACW. For newcomers such as Ayanda Simangweni, Ngcali Xhegwana, Patricia Peterson, and Nozipho Madinda, it is a catalyst and a source of inspiration.
This year’s facilitators were the notable Marike Beyers, Jeannie Wallace McKeown, Crystal Warren, and Sithembele Xhegwana.
