Reddits Poetry Special Edition: African Languages Week 2025

African Languages Week, organized under the auspices of the African Academy of Languages (ACALAN), an institution of the African Union (AU), will take place virtually this year.
The week will culminate with an online poetry reading hosted by Amazwi. Join us for an hour of poetry in African languages. You are welcome to read your own work or share the poetry of others that resonates with you.
While you may include an English translation of the poem, it is not a requirement. This event will be an open mic, and to assist with scheduling, please send your name and the language of your poem to Crystal Warren at c.warren@amazwi.museum if you wish to participate.
The event will be held on Zoom and will also be livestreamed to the Amazwi Facebook page.
