The Sarah Baartman District Office for Sports, Arts, & Culture (DSRAC) is calling all Makhanda homestay operators to apply for a homestay project during 2025 National Arts Festival.

WHO IS INVITED TO APPLY?
This opportunity is open to Makhanda residents. Preference will be given to the previously disadvantaged.
To qualify, the host/hostess must:
• Be a law-abiding citizen.
• Not be employed by government.
• Own the home/s applied for.
• Have basic people skills.
• Be able to supply bed and breakfast.
• Be from a previously disadvantaged background.
REQUIREMENTS:
• A clean and tidy household with access to shared living room
• Electricity, heating, and water
• A safe and secure bedroom with a suitable storage space
• Adequate lighting; kitchen, living area and bathroom.
• Household items such as towels, sheets, blankets, eating and cooking utensils.
HOW TO APPLY?
Application forms are available from DSRAC offices at their Registry office or at Makana Tourism. Completed forms to be submitted to the same offices.
Successful applicants will be required to attend a Hospitality training course, which will be communicated to them in due course.
