Monday, 5th June 2017
Do you have accommodation you'd like to have star-graded but think you cannot afford the costs? Well local tourism grading assessors, Sharon and Franco Angileri have some great news for you. The National Department of Tourism has made available to the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa some funding which we can now pass onto accommodation establishments.
All you need to do is apply on-line and fill in the application form. In this process you will be asked to upload the documents indicated below and if all is in order and you comply, you will get 80% off the normal grading fee.
Step 1:
Go to: http://application.tourismgrading.co.za/
Complete the form and click the 'Send Verification' button once finished. This will send a verification email to the given email address allowing you to continue with the application process.
In the application Process you will be asked if you would like to apply for the TIP funding and they will then ask you to upload the following documents:
- Valid Tax Clearance Certificate
- ID of owner
- Copy of B-BBEE level compliance certificate .(you may upload an affidavit signed by a commissioner of oaths)
- Business registration type i.e.-company, Close Corporation, Co-operative, Partnership, Sole proprietor and Trust.
- Document upload in support of selection made.
Step 2:
Once you have completed this you will receive notification if it was successful and thereafter you will receive an invoice. Once the invoice has been paid Franco or I will contact you to set up an appointment to come and do the TGCSA assessment.
Step 3:
Then your property goes through an internal Awards Meeting (these are held monthly) and if all is in order, you will receive an e-mail and certificate. Then your Star grading is valid for a year!!
