A: We are the only ones in Makhanda offering customized event newspapers. Whether it’s a baby shower or a graduation, our print media creates lasting memories beyond just digital invitations.

A: Working with Sanele has been key. His photography complements my print work, allowing us to provide a full package to clients. We also partner with local makeup artists and branding specialists to expand our offerings.

A: We employ local designers and printers, keeping money circulating within Makhanda. Our work also helps local businesses gain visibility through customized promotional materials.


Sanele Cintso – The Visionary Behind Lulo Events

Sanele Cintso is a passionate creative professional and the founding director of Lulo Events, a multimedia and events management company. Born and bred in Makhanda (formerly Grahamstown), he has built a reputation as a skilled photographer and videographer, working on major events such as the Makana Music Festival and the Port Alfred Gospel Music Festival. Despite challenges, he continues to innovate and expand his business, including opening a photography studio in 2023.

Q: What inspired you to start Lulo Events?
A: I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit—from selling sweets in school to mobile haircuts. Organizing school events pushed me to formalize my brand, and Lulo Events was born. I wanted to create something that would last and contribute meaningfully to the creative industry.

Q: How does Lulo Events contribute to Makhanda’s economy?
A: We employ local talent, whether it’s photographers, designers, or event staff. Our events also boost small businesses, from caterers to venues, and our branding services help startups build professional identities.

Q: What was the biggest challenge you faced, and how did you overcome it?
A: COVID-19 hit us hard. I had invested in new equipment, but event cancellations forced me to refund clients. I had to sell most of my gear, but I adapted by working with local restaurants and taverns, which helped me rebuild my brand. 


 Ayanda Tyibilika – Founder of Revamp Beauty Studios

Ayanda Tyibilika is a professional makeup artist and the CEO of Revamp Beauty Studios, a brand that has grown significantly in the past four years. She has worked with high-profile clients, including media personality Lerato Kganyago and Buli G from Real Housewives of Gqeberha (RHOG).
